I went though bullying in grade school and it was a horrible experience. Not only did it hurt my self-esteem but I still remember how devasting it was for me even now and I am 48 years old now. I would like to tell parents to watch for the signs of bullying with your child. I was always a happy-go-lucky child and then I become angry and hard to get along with. I didn't tell my parents what was going on for the longest time and then one day I confided in a family friend. I was afraid and even ashamed to talk with my parents about it. When I look back now, I'm sure I should have handled things differently, but at the time I was just a kid so I handled it in a "kid" way. I think that had I spoke up right away maybe things could have been handled differently before they got out of hand. But I suffered in silence when I should have spoken up. Parents, make sure you do everything in your power to protect your children. Don't just talk to the school and expect they will take care of things. Document all your conversations. Look up the law in your state and make sure you quote the law to the school officials and follow up, follow up, follow up. Bullying is wrong and it should not happen to you or to your child. I really like your website. There was not alot of information about this subject back years ago. I especially like your Top 10 rules about bullying. They spoke volumes to me. Best of luck to you. God Bless.

Great website. It has alot of great information on it and it shows how passionate you are about the subject. My little sister is going through some of this right now and it is very stressful for her and for our whole family. I had no idea how bad bullying could be until it actually happenned to someone that I care about. It has been an eye-opening experience. Thank you for having this website for people to come and share their stories and to get info from.

Katie,
Great web-site!!! What a wonderful platform for you to address. If more teens/pre-teens realized how much more cool you are to be against bullying, maybe there would be fewer cases of it. One problem lies with all those who present it as cool - everybody wants to be cool, so others end up joining in too.
I was bullied when I was young. That is one of my biggest fears as a mother of two & one on the way. I don't want my kids to be victims as well. They sure better never be bullies either or they're in for it with me!!!
You are a beautiful young lady; this comes from the inside and shines outward. Good luck with your future, no matter what you do in life. You are off to a wonderful start to becoming successful.
If you have any bracelets left, I'd like about 3 please. Please email me if you have them to spare & I'll send my address.
God Bless you, VickiAdmin reply: Thanks for all the encouragement - it really means alot to me. Send me your address to studentsagainstbullying@hotmail.com and I will get those bracelets sent out to you.

Katie, i think what your doing is great. Some people are worried that if they "tell" it will get worse. A website like this is awsome! And anyone that would leave anything negative or against what you are trying to do here is a sad sad person. All i can say is may god bless them with a happier face in the morning!! Thanks again katie for all you are doing

There are a lot of typos on this website...
Where are the posts that disagree with you, Katie? Did you delete all of those?
